Anyone who knows basketball should love the Utah Jazz. One of the biggest paradoxes in the NBA is the Utah Jazz not winning a championship in the 90s. It is something that will forever haunt me. They were a great team. They, as well as others like Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller, just couldn’t overcome the ultimate deity in basketball Michael Jordan. That’s nothing to be ashamed off but the fact the John Stockton, Karl Malone, and Jerry Sloan never held up that championship trophy just will always seem wrong. Their whole decade and a half of great basketball will never get the credit it deserves or one that only Jazz fans can only ever appreciate. And that is what you have got to love about the Utah Jazz. Their fans love them. Salt Lake City stands behind their team 100%. That’s the only team they have. Even during the several years that they did not make the championship, even though they came awfully close, the fans were still buying Jazz tickets. Even after John Stockton left and Karl Malone had went to the Lakers Jazz tickets were still being sold out. That city has always stood behind their team, GM, and coach.
Have you ever watched the sports highlights of Deron Williams? He is amazing. He was injured at the beginning of the season but he is closest to John Stockton that you are ever going to get. He runs the offense almost to perfection. He will pick your offense apart like clockwork. Love that guy. He can score easily but let me tell you at the heart this guy is a true point guard in the fullest sense. If he could Derron Williams would sit back and not score a point and rack up 15 assists just setting his teammates up. But he can get to the rim when he wants, pull up for the mid range jumper, and shoot three points at an above average percentage. Very efficient and lets not forget he plays good physical defense. What more could you want in a point guard. Not much. Jazz tickets are worth the price of admission just to be able to watch this guy operate. I see the sports highlights of this guy on ESPN or NBA TV and I am just amazed. If I talked about everything Deron Williams does for the Utah Jazz then it would take up this whole page.
Another reason to get Jazz tickets is due to their outstanding coach Jerry Sloan. He has enjoyed the best job security more than any other coach in the NBA. Because he does not worry about anything he can do and say whatever he wants and had the full backing off his GM. He runs a flex offense that relies on constant motion including many backdoor cuts and lay-ups. His teams always shot over 50%. His teams always rebound well and are tough as nails. Weak people never survive on the Jazz for long. Kyle Korver will not last long especially if he doesn’t knock down threes at a decent clip. Anyway, Jerry Sloan demands that you give it your all and do not back down. He would much rather see a player foul and get into foul trouble than back down like a punk. That the Sloan way. You share the ball, pass it to the open man, rebound, and beat the other team up. His team will always play physical. That’s why they lead the league in fouls but they will be quick to put you on your ass. If you watch the sports highlights of the Jazz you will see a wrestling match. Thats the way he wants it.
Carlos Boozer is down right now and may not be playing for the rest of the year and may be included in possible trade talks. He was a really fun player to watch. If there was ever a reason not to go online and buy Jazz tickets it would be this reason. The sports highlights of this guy were fantastic. He could rebound, score, and shoot. He couldn’t play defense to save his life but he was an all star. Hopefully he will be back. But the Jazz may want to try and move him while his value is still high.
This is a great team. They are not flashy and will not win the Finals this year. But they are a well coached team that will always play to their maximum potential and rarely takes nights off especially at home. If you buy Jazz tickets you will not be disappointed at all. I have been to other home team’s games, like the Rockets, and have seen the whole team play with no passion. Same goes for the Mavericks. The Utah Jazz usually put everything they have on the line.
